What is your general background?

I'm a financial consultant and a part time student. I'm originally from India, but Lodon's been home for a while now.

What was the reason you asked for coaching help?

It started with a need to improve my fitness in general and lose weight - I was 26 years old and unable to climb up a flight of stairs without getting completely out of breath. But over time, my needs evolved as I got fitter; my current coaching needs are a mix of high intensity cardio workouts, sessions to improve nutrition, and sessions on body building.

What outcome or change resulted from the coaching?

I lost over 12kg in total; 7 of which were in the last 3 months of coaching after nutrition entered the picture. I feel lighter, more confident and overall happier. On the flip side, I had to get a whole new wardrobe (which is unbelievably expensive) so be careful what you wish for I guess.

What could have been improved, removed or added to the coaching experience?

I have really enjoyed Tom's sessions, and he's been incredibly helpful in the times when I got anxious about the changes I was seeing in my body. I don't really have any quibbles or suggestions, except for this: I wish he'd pushed me more on the nutrition bit when we started off – i.e., eating clean and healthy is equally if not more important than the workout itself.

What did you learn from the coaching experience?

The biggest thing I learned is to treat my body with respect. The amount of damage we cause to our bodies by not eating right, by overindulging in junk food and alcohol, and also by not moving properly – is just plain shocking.

The other thing I learned is that consistency and discipline matter much more than anything else when it comes to achieving body-related goals, whether they be bulking up, slimming down or just staying fit.

My life changed irreversibly – in a good way.

What would you say to anyone interested in coaching help?

My biggest regret is not getting help earlier on – I would always come up with excuses like "oh it's too expensive", or "oh I won't have the time". Granted, coaching is expensive, and demands discipline and commitment. But it is totally worth it. It is an investment on ourselves, to improve our health and well being – and for me, it has paid off massively.

So my advice is to go ahead and take the plunge. Get help, now!
